Bandipora, May 30 (KNO): As the coronavirus patients are recovering in twin districts of Bandipora and Ganderbal orange zone districts of Kashmir valley, life is getting back on track and people have also heaved a sigh of relief since past few days. Locals while talking to news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said that the residents heaved a sigh of relief as the patients here began to recover, in the early days when the virus has infected many people. “We were very nervous and sense of fear prevailed everywhere because the virus has killed thousands of people across the globe, but we thank first Almighty and then our Administration because the disease didn’t have much effect in these districts,” they said. "We don't need to be afraid of this disease rather we need to have a good strategy which we will defeat it. People who have done their job during this time they will be remembered forever," they said. The residents of Bandipora thanked and congratulated the district administration especially former district development commissioner Shahbaz Mirza for his role in fighting the Covid-19 in the district. They also appreciated the role of health authorities stating that they risked their lives to stand side by side with them to fight the deadly virus. “If the district has seen surge in recovery cases it is because of their efforts and hard work. It would not have been possible without them. The police also played their positive role in helping the district come out of this deadly virus,” they said. A group of locals while talking to KNO said that they are very happy because there are very few patients left in the district and God willing, they will also recover soon. “We also pray to Almighty that He will eradicate this disease in the whole of Kashmir as well as in the whole world so that life gets back to normal very soon.” Pertinently, people in both the districts have been gradually starting the normal activities after remaining in lockdown for more than two months and district administrations have also started to easing out restrictions in staggered manner so that life gets back to normal. An official said that movement of people and opening of markets in both the districts has been allowed in a steady manner so that people don’t have to suffer much for want of essentials. Earlier, both the districts were declared as orange zones after maximum number of patients were cured and district after contracting the deadly virus. As per the data available with KNO of the total 145 positive cases only 10 cases are active in Bandipora now while of the total 31 positive cases only 7 cases are active now in Ganderbal district—(KNO)
